These days I am an early riser. So on this particular morning, I decided to make a delicious batch of home made cinnamon rolls. I've attempted to create them in the past with not so great success. This time I had a lot more time, patience and more practice with working with dough. Also in using active, dry yeast in recipes.
Check out the recipe and cool pictures. Drop a comment as well. Peace.
Cinnamon Roll Recipe
2 and 3/4 cups of unbleached organic white flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 and 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
3 tbsp softened unsalted butter
1 brown egg
Filling
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
3 tbsp unsalted butter
1/3 cup of brown sugar
Icing
I chose to use store bought, but you can make your own using powdered sugar. Online search should yield great suggestion of recipes.
Plan
Add wet ingredients to dry. Let sit in bowl for 10 minutes. Flour surface and roll out dough into form of a rectangle. Apply filling. Roll dough into a log. Cut dough into 10-12 pieces. Each piece should resemble pin wheel like shape. Cover for 60 minutes with a clean dish towel or cloth so the dough may rise. After, bake in an oven safe pan for 23-24 minutes. Let cool and apply icing.
